Carmina Masoliver

The Sevillana

They sway hips,
turn heads to face,
smiling wine lips,
as singer on stage,
offers her heart:
a bird from a cage.
They move apart,
glance across shoulders,
a side-eye dart,
becoming bolder,
reach up their arms,
smoke in their smoulder.
Raise the alarms,
as they twist their wrists,
like turning taps, they charm.
A flame you can't resist,
they seem to spin,
cross bodies to guitar riffs,
come skin to skin,
laugh, wide-spread grins.
