Flashing Before Your Eyes – a Duplex
Bogeymen and chocolate bears, bon vivant and smiling clowns,
faceless angels in the dark, ponytails and wedding gowns,
homeless angels disembark, swallowtails and dressing gowns,
falling backwards down the stairs, clairvoyants with toothless frowns,
calling bad words from their chairs, cheery aunts with toothsome frowns,
countless lovers in the park, images in grays and browns,
boundless lovers kiss and spark, imagoes in grayish browns,
dangling feet and answered prayers, debutantes with golden crowns,
gangly, fleet and handsome players, dilettantes in hand-me-downs,
thorny questions miss the mark, the sole survivor sinks and drowns,
horny questors disembark, the soul surveyor leaps and bounds,
nudist beaches, shedding cares, race horse has his ups and downs,
nudist beaches, steady stares, race course has its Epsom Downs,
boogie woogie, chocolate bears, beneficent and smiley clowns.
