Get Grisly

I wouldn’t want to be the one
to dress the dead.

Undergarments?
(Let your mind get grisly.)
An apprenticeship or a rigid recipe
for fashion, be it rigor mortis de rigueur –
But who’s to posture?
Flat on your back, in no position to complain.

I wouldn’t want the job, no Sir –
We’re not talking paper dolls here.

But I’ve nudged the image into your ear,
smoothed the texture against your eye,
just in case you might deny
the thought had ever crossed your mind.
