Barbara Browne

Thoughts

Accrue
or stew
Occur to me
fleetingly

Gently tug
at your hem
Bowl you down
like a pin

Fragile parcel,
neatly wrapped
Frenzied, bold
and tousled mass-

A wig with legs-
A nest of sticks-
A pearl- a dart-
A hook- a knot-

Cast a line
Set a trap
Knock and wait
Crash the gate

Way too late
Or just in time?
Here’s a penny’s worth:
They cost a dime.
