Custody Kid
My self was in my pocket here
seems I was right here all the time
I only thought I’d lost my self
the reason being I'm
an agent of immunity
a prisoner of their past
a feather in my flight
impatient in my body cast
forced into another's corset
become a hostage to their fight
wholly ransomed by the very ones
that drew these laces tight
with my one foot firm in fairyland
and the other far from home
while I watch the skies all darken
when the Furies start to swarm
who will drag me to the edge again
and tear apart my calm
lead me straight into temptation
where I'll be far from safe from harm.
