God Loves You Just the Way She Made You

Your problem is, if you say God’s a Woman,
She is responsible for all She does.
Although your point is to make God more human,
Or anyway, more human than God was
When He was just some form of male aggression –
I know, I know, but please, just hear me out.
We all would like to somehow take possession
Of Who – or What – God is to quell the doubt
That nothing’s there, or no one, to defend us,
To keep us good, to represent our need
To feel that suffering means, and to befriend us
So we’ll have hope and purpose. Oh, indeed,
It would sometimes seem better if there were
A Woman there, and we could turn to Her.
