Carl Kinsky

Just Trust AI

Autonomous AI with no kill switch,
in algorithms more than God we trust.
As data centers boom, job markets bust.
So what? Adapt. Life sometimes is a bitch –
and you, a trivial computer glitch,
a nanosecond blip, a fleck of dust.
Extraneous. Surprised? You look nonplussed.
Get over it. It’s evolution (which
might mean extinction), sparing just the fittest,
which you are not. But then again who is?
Those so-called masters of the universe,
appalled to find they’re tops on AI’s shitlist,
those zillionaires in private jets that whiz
like flies? AI, all wise, will swat them first.

Carl Kinsky is a sonneteer who masqueraded as a lawyer for many years in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, a small town on the Mississippi.  He wrote his first sonnet when wooing his wife, and she has suffered ever since.  His sonnets have appeared in  Autumn Sky, The Ekphrastic Review, Grand Little Things, The Lyric, Lighten Up Online, The Road Not Taken,  and elsewhere.  He’s won a few prizes and has used that as his excuse to retire.
