One Night Shootout

Little miss make yourself at home
Asleep here in my bed
While all these misconceptions
Dance within my head

Tangled in the silken sheets
We made quite a mess
Now you are talking in your sleep
As you cry out in distress

A notch upon your bedpost
Or a night to kill some time
Baby you sure have rhythm
Still I can sense no rhyme

Into the light of morning
A stranger hides her eyes
Emitting from a tortured soul
A steady stream of lies

A victim in a shadow game
Another gunslinger laid to rest
Another bullet to the heart
Another trophy in the quest

Back out on the hunt
A feline on the run
The only thing you left behind
Your cold but smoking gun
